Meet Tenika
Hey there! I’m Tenika Eardley. I am a registered dietitian, a mom, a wife, a business owner and functional nutrition practitioner. I get asked all the time about what I feed my family and get some curious looks when I respond with pizza, because, yes, we eat pizza! I proudly ingest carbs because I feel better when my colony of gut microbes are happily feasting on fiber.
People also immediately justify their food choices around me, thinking I’m assessing what’s on their plate and passing judgement. Trust me! I don’t have the time or energy to do so! I also hear about failed diet attempts and get all the questions about the current fad diet and “how do I loose weight?”
Well I have plenty to say about the topics, but I am going to instead focus my energy on sharing ways you can SHAMELESSLY feed your family and instill a good relationship with food in yourself and your kiddos.
I prioritize my family’s health and I (sort of) plan meals and grocery shop based on: nutrient density, affordability, availability, convenience, and time.
Do we eat salads? Yes. Pizza? Yes. Eggs? Yes. Beets? Yes. Bread? Fruit? Vegetables? Yes. Concreate? No. At least, not on purpose…we have all had a good bike crash or two!
My goal is to teach, inspire, and help you find your stride in the crazy world of “what should we eat?” I’m not perfect! Who is?!? This isn’t about perfection, this is about figuring out the best you can for the moment that you’re in and being ok with that!
